Motor Protection Using Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) Thermistors

You can connect the NTC thermistor input in the motor windings to one of the drive analog input terminals.

When you connect the NTC thermistor to the MFAI terminal, the drive protects the motor from overheating When A1-02 = 3 [Closed Loop Vector], the drive provides torque compensation in response to changes in motor temperature.

If the NTC input signal from the MFAI exceeds the overheat alarm level set in L1-16 [Motor 1 Overheat Temperature] (L1-18 [Motor 2 Overheat Temperature] for Motor 2), the drive detects oH5 [Motor Overheat (NTC Input)] and stops the motor with the stopping method set in L1-20 [Motor Overheat (oH5) Selection].

These parameters set the drive overheat protection with NTC input.
